LAST TIME THEY MET
Despite coming home strong, the Lions were unable to topple North Melbourne when they last met in Round 9 of the 2012 season.

The first quarter was a tight battle before a seven goal 2nd quarter from the Roos saw them take control of the game.  The Lions were unable to stop North’s multi-pronged attack, with Harper, Wright, Petrie and Black all kicking multiple goals for the Roos.

The Roos led by 58 points early in the third quarter before the Lions found some form, kicking 5 unanswered goals in the space of 11 minutes. At the final break the margin was just 26 points, but the Lions hopes were quickly dashed with North kicking the first 2 of the final term. The Lions went on to kick the last four goals of the term, but it was a case of too little too late for the Lions with the Kangaroos prevailing by 16 points.

Aaron Cornelious kicked four goals for the Lions, while Jack Redden (25 disposals) and Mitch Golby (25 disposals) were among the best on field.
