Scans today have confirmed that Brisbane Lions’ Pearce Hanley has a small fracture in his hand.

The injury was sustained in the Lions win over Melbourne on Saturday night.

Hanley will undergo surgery tonight and is expected to miss approximately two to four weeks.

General Manager - Football Operations, Dean Warren, said:

“Pearce has been one of our most consistent performers this season and understandably he’s disappointed by this setback,” Warren said.

“His absence however, provides an opportunity for one of our young developing players to gain further senior experience"
