Ryan Lester said he had no hesitation in re-committing to the Brisbane Lions for a further two years on Tuesday.

Lester, who is close to completing his fourth AFL season, is the latest in a long list of young Lions to re-sign with the Club in 2014.

The 21-year-old Victorian has settled well into the Queensland lifestyle, and wants to play a role in the Lions’ exciting future.

“I couldn’t be happier up here. I’ve got plenty of good mates and I think we’re going in the right direction,” Lester said.

“Hopefully I can start cementing a spot through the midfield.

“The future looks good for us.”

Lester said he’s noticed a real boost in the team’s confidence as the season has worn on.

“The confidence has grown immensely throughout the group, particularly among the young boys,” Lester said.

“Early in the season they were playing their first and second games, now they’re 15 games in and know their role better.”
