Stefan Martin returns to the squad to take on the Sydney Swans in the NAB Challenge Rd2 match on Friday at Coffs Harbour.

Justin Leppitsch rested the big man last week, not wanting to risk him on the harder Burpengary surface, with the team heading to Coffs Harbour, fans get to see the Martin & Leuenberger combination they got a glimpse of in Rd23 last year.

Draftee Liam Dawson (Pick 44, and graduate of the Hyundai Help For Kids Lions Academy) comes into the squad and is set to get his first taste of senior footy.

Off season recruit Allen Christensen will sit out another game but looks set for the NAB Challenge Rd3 match against the Gold Coast Suns.

Elite Performance Manager, Brett Burton of the Bupa Support Team, earlier in the week said in his Bupa Recovery Report, that the plan for Christensen was always the clash against the Suns.

"He has been in full training for the last few weeks, obviously when you have been out for such a long period as he has you start to get a bit tight and bit sore in a few areas, so it is just overcoming that which he is clear of now and we look forward to him gettting two more full weeks of training and being ready for NAB 3."

The match against the Swans will be another chance for the coaches to take a look at the forward setup with Offensive Strategy Coach, Gary O'Donnell saying in the Vero Coaches Wrap they were still looking for the right balance.

"We are still looking for the right balance, talls and smalls, in the forward line and we'll continue to do that probably not only in the practice match series but early in the round of matches in the AFL season.

"I think it's something we're not set on and it will the guys that want to put their hand up and the blokes that have good form that will get their spot in the forward line."
