OLYMPIC and world swimming champion Mel Wright and “Lethal Lion” Spencer Grammer are the Brisbane Lions’ No.1 Ticket Holders for 2015.

Wright, a long-time Brisbane Lions member, Official Ambassador over recent seasons and foundation member of the new “Women of the Pride group, says she is overwhelmed by the elevation to “top supporter” status.

“It’s a bit surreal to be honest. It is such a privilege for me to be in this position,’’ Wright said.

“I can’t even tell you how old I was when I started supporting Brisbane.

“They were the Bears back then so it’s been a while. I’ve just loved AFL as long as I can remember.

“I’d love the Lions whether I was no.1 ticket holder or not. I love getting to the games as well getting on social media during the week and getting behind the boys.’’

Wright, who lists Alastair Lynch as her all-time favourite Brisbane player with captain Tom Rockliff the leading light in the current squad, has more than 46,000 followers on Twitter.

She is in training for the 2016 Olympics in Rio and is toying with the idea of sticking around for home Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in 2018.

In 2008 she won gold with the 4x 200m Freestyle team and took home a silver medal as a member of the 4x 100m Freestyle relay team, while in 2012 she was a star of the Australian women’s swimming team at the London Olympics, winning gold as the anchor of the 4x 100m Freestyle relay team.

She then went on to win two silver medals as a member of the 4x100m Medley relay and 4x 200m Freestlye relay teams.

Spencer Grammer is one of Queensland’s most successful businessmen – and a long-time supporter of the Brisbane Lions.

His company Haulmark Trailers was established in Brisbane in 1963 and has built an enviable reputation as a high quality designer and manufacturer of road transport equipment.

Employing in excess of 250 people and having branches in Brisbane, Sydney and Darwin, Haulmark has positioned itself as a high quality specialist manufacturer and repairer.

Grammer is one of the original members of the “Lethal Lions”, a group that has provided generous financial backing to the Club since 2002.

His generosity and humility have made a huge difference to the Brisbane Lions over the years and his contribution to the Club is widely recognised across players, staff and supporters.
