The NEAFL Lions (10.3.63) fought hard against the UWS Giants (15.11.101) but failed to come out on top losing by 38 points at Coorparoo on a windy Sunday.

Liam Dawson was the leading goal kicker for the Lions, scoring the first goal for the game and kicking three in the second half.

The Giants kicked inaccurately during the first term, which closed the margin and gave Lions a significant chance to catch up.

The Giants nabbed a one handed mark leading to a goal to dampen Brisbane’s spirits.

Both teams traded goal for goal in the final minutes but the Giants managed to come out on top, Jed Lamb contributing heavily to the win bagging 5 goals in the game.
