BILLY EVANS will make his debut for the Lions against the Gold Coast Suns in Q-Clash 10 at The Gabba on Saturday afternoon.

The 18-year old was drafted to Brisbane at pick four in the pre-season AFL Rookie Draft. Under AFL guidelines after Round 11 clubs can nominate a ‘mid-season nominated’ rookie. The rookie can play for the rest of the season regardless of how many players are on the club’s list.

Evans, recruited from the Bendigo Pioneers, was rewarded for consistent form in the NEAFL. He is the 174th player to represent the merged Brisbane Lions since 1997 and the 1423rd player to represent the Club (Fitzroy and Bears).

Zac O’Brien returns to senior selection following 50 disposals and a goal in the NEAFL Reserves’ loss to Sydney at the SCG last weekend and Luke McGuane will play his first senior game for 2015 after returning from a knee injury.

McGuane has played the last three matches in the NEAFL, gaining match fitness.

Nick Robertson has been omitted.
