Two new injuries have arisen from Saturday’s senior and reserves’ games against the Gold Coast Suns.

Defender Justin Clarke fractured his jaw early in a marking contest and midfielder Nick Robertson suffered a hamstring injury playing in the NEAFL at Coorparoo.

“The first contest of the day Jase Clarke fractured his jaw and managed to play out the game,” Physical Performance Coordinator, Matt Hass, told the Bupa Recovery Report.

“He’s a tough bugger.”

“Nick Robbo in the twos tore his hamstring so he’ll be out for three or four weeks – that might wrap up his season.”

Hass said forward Luke McGuane’s return to the seniors after a 454 day layoff with injury went to plan. The 28-year old got through unscathed.

“It’s good to have Sticks back, he went really well.

“Obviously he’ll have heavy legs and be fairly tired being the first game back for some time, but all in all, he pulled up pretty well.”

Meanwhile Dayne Beams will begin his rehab program in the coming weeks following shoulder surgery that cut short his 2015 season.

“Binga had surgery on Monday, all went well, no hiccups.

“He’ll start his rehab shortly and be ready and right to go for pre-season next year.”
