BRENT Staker and Rohan Bewick have been recalled for the Brisbane Lions’ final AFL game of the season this Saturday afternoon against the Western Bulldogs.

Staker, 31, confirmed his retirement last Wednesday to the playing group and was a member of the Lions’ NEAFL win over Redland on the weekend.

Bewick was best afield against Redland for the Lions’ Reserves with 31 possessions and three goals.

In other Club news, Luke McGuane today announced his retirement from football after suffering another knee injury at training yesterday afternoon.

He kicked two goals in last weekend’s loss to Hawthorn in Launceston.

A Queenslander, McGuane, played 112 games over an 11-years AFL career – 105 of those for Richmond – after being selected at No.36 in the 2004 National Draft by the Tigers from Broadbeach on the Gold Coast.

The 28-year-old forward has played the best football of his career at the Brisbane Lions over the past month after fighting back from a series of left knee problems since joining the Club at the start of 2014.

Defender Hugh Beasley has been omitted.

Josh Watts, Zac O’Brien and Beasley have been listed as emergencies.
