Brisbane has shown a commitment to nurturing local talent after selecting Ben Keays at Pick No. 24 in this year's National Draft.

The Brisbane Lions matched the Western Bulldogs' bid on the young midfielder.

A prolific ball-magnet with a terrific work rate, Keays was developed through the Hyundai Help for Kids Lions Academy and has demonstrated a capacity to push forward into the forward line and kick goals.

He averaged almost 29 touches per game in the national under 18 titles and promises to be an exciting long-term prospect for the Lions' side.

AGE: 18
