THE BRISBANE Lions have to take a leaf out of Mitch Robinson's book against Gold Coast on Saturday, young forward Josh Schache says.

Robinson was a one-man wrecking ball against Geelong last weekend, waging war with Cats skipper Joel Selwood.

He escaped sanction from the Match Review Panel for a final-quarter hit on Selwood, but was a beacon of energy and enthusiasm in a poor Lions showing.

Schache, in just his third game, said a few teammates could follow Robinson's lead in the QClash at the Gabba.

"Each weekend you've got to go out there pretty aggressively," Schache said.

"Mitch Robbo showed that last week against the Cats.

"If we can go out there and be aggressive and stamp our authority early, it'll go a long way towards winning it."

Match Preview: v Suns

After being taken second overall in last year's NAB AFL Draft, Schache has showed promising signs in the opening weeks of the season, particularly with his contested marking, in which he ranks equal fifth in the league.

The 18-year-old said he'd had some important feedback from his opponents, but was more desperate to crack a win and sing the team song.

He hoped Rory Thompson's (ankle) absence from the Suns backline would open up some opportunities this weekend.

"They're a very good defensive group back there" Schache said.

"All the players that come in and that they've got at the moment are really good, so we're going to have to be on our game even though they've got Thompson out.

"Our confidence is definitely still up.

"All the boys are still very enthusiastic. We're definitely striving for that first win.

"I've been pretty devastated the last three matches. I really want to sing the song."

Schache was joined by Tayla Harris who will line-up for the Brisbane Lions in the Women’s Exhibition Match following QClash 11.

It is the sixth of the AFL Women’s Exhibition Series games being played around the country in the lead-up to the introduction of a national AFL women’s competition in 2017.

"I hope it (women’s footy) gets some momentum from this year onwards and the rivalry just keeps on moving forward,” Harris said.
