In this week’s #LionsTBT, we cast back to the 2002 Brownlow Medal Count when ‘Blacky’ took home ‘Charlie’.

One of the Lions' most decorated players, Simon Black almost achieved every individual honour in the game and, in the 2002 Season, established himself among the true champions of the game after winning the Brownlow in a team that went on to win their second consecutive premiership.

Black polled 25 votes to beat Port Adelaide's Josh Francou (21) and Lions skipper Michael Voss (17).

In this year, Simon Black also claimed his second Merrett-Murray Medal (2001, 2002, 2006) and earned All-Australian selection.
