We take a look at some of the key talking points from Senior Coach Justin Leppitsch’s post match press conference.

Where we lost it:

“Simple contested footy today. We got smashed in clearances and that normally means you get smashed in contested possessions, which we did… and then we missed 52 tackles so we couldn’t win it back.”

Letdown from the Sydney Swans near-miss:

“When you have a good first quarter like that, and then finish like that, you know it’s not a physical thing. It has to be something else. We need to find our consistency.”

On the midfield:

“The challenge today though is the worst part of our ground was the midfield, which is the most experienced. We’ve got to work together a bit better in there. They (the midfield group) owned that (after the game) but it’s all talk, you’ve got to do something about it.’’

Dayne Beams’ return:

"He was good. He had patches where we put him forward for a bit to try and nurse him through but he had a pretty good output, didn't he, for a guy who hasn't played [recently]. Great leadership and great class and poise, which he's got."

Rockliff’s hamstring:

“It’s minor but it’s happened a few times now. Each time it’s only been a week or two but it’s sort of been a month apart. There’s something going on there we need to investigate.’’
