We take a look at some of the key stats from Sunday's match against Melbourne.

The total number of disposals Melbourne had - Melbourne were able to get their hands on the footy far more often than we were able to. They dominated the disposal count with 414 to our 334.

This, paired with a higher disposal efficiency (78% - 74%), allowed Melbourne to control the game.

Our total number of shots from inside 50s - We had a total of 22 shots from 45 inside 50s. This meant our efficiency inside 50 was 49% as opposed to Melbourne whose efficiency was 65% (34 shots from 52 inside 50s)

The differential in contested possessions - It was close to an even match in this area. Melbourne had 139 contested possessions to our 133.

More alarming was the uncontested possession count which Melbourne dominated with 277-203.

Missed opportunities in the third quarter - Down by 32 points at the halftime break, we came out firing, but couldn't make Melbourne pay.

Our one goal and five behinds in the third term let the Demons off the hook.
