The Brisbane Lions will welcome back Skipper Tom Rockliff and will blood a new debutant in Jarrad Jansen when they take on Carlton this Saturday at Etihad Stadium.

Jansen was recruited from Geelong at end of 2015 after spending two seasons with the Cats. He is the fourth debutant for the Lions this season and will play his first AFL game when the Lions clash with the Blues.

Jansen will wear the No.16 guernsey that was made famous by champion forward Jonathan Brown.

Rockliff returns for his first match since injuring his right hamstring against Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval in Round 7. He trained strongly this morning and was named in the final 22.

The Lions will be without utility Ryan Lester. The 23-year-old, who has played every match this season, is expected to miss at least the next fortnight with a quad injury.

First year player Rhys Mathieson makes way for Rockliff.

Former Blue Tom Bell will be reacquainted with his former teammates when he plays his first game against Carlton on Saturday. Bell was recruited back to his home state in the off-season. He collected three Brownlow votes the last time the two sides clashed at Etihad Stadium in Round 6, 2015.
