Exciting utilities Rohan Bewick and Ryan Lester have re-signed with the Brisbane Lions until at least the end of 2018.

The pair who were already contracted until the end of 2016, moved early to each sign new two year deals.

Bewick and Lester’s contract extensions bring the total number of Brisbane Lions player re-signings to 17 since the end of last season.

Bewick, drafted from West Perth in the WAFL has played 86 games for the Club since making his debut in 2011.

The 26-year-old was in career best form before being sidelined with a groin injury but is expected to return this weekend against Fremantle at the Gabba.

Lester was taken at pick 28 in the 2010 National Draft, playing 71 games for the Lions.

In 2015 he was recognised as the Club’s Most Professional Player.

The 23-year-old had played every match this season until a quad injury kept him out of Saturday’s loss to Carlton. He is likely to return against the West Coast Eagles in Round 13.

“We’re delighted to have signed Rohan and Ryan,” said Brisbane Lions National Talent Manager Peter Schwab.

“Their form this year has been really important to the fabric of the team and they’ve played their roles really well.

“They’re great clubmen, we’re delighted that they’ve seen fit to sign on with us.”
