In the 2009 Elimination Final between Brisbane and Carlton, Michael Voss' men trailed by five goals in the last term but the Lions rallied to snatch a thrilling seven-point victory over the Blues at The Gabba.

Brisbane looked gone for all money after Carlton blitzed the home side in the third term, piling on six goals to two, but the Lions were irresistible in the dying minutes with a Daniel Bradshaw major putting his team in front.

Another Bradshaw goal sealed the deal for the Lions 16.15 (111) to 15.14 (104), to delight the crowd of 32,702 and cap the win and stretch the Lions’ record at the Gabba to 12 wins from 12 home finals.

Former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd joined in the celebrations in the Lions’ last finals series to date.
