Newly appointed Senior Coach Chris Fagan has emphasised that the Brisbane Lions need to maintain and develop players who are equipped with top-end disposal and endurance skills, as well as strong character, in order to reshape the Club's culture.

“I’m trying to catch up and get a one-on-one with every player on the list,” Fagan told Radio TAB.

“I want to get a really good picture of where things are at and a little bit of what happened in the past.”

Trade & Draft aim locked on next flag

When asked about what he looked for in a player, Fagan said, “the Club obviously wants talented players but that’s less important than guys with character, perseverance and grit.

“Guys who are prepared to work as part of a team, who are selfless and will be happy to make their teammates better.

“The thing we want most of all is to get the team to play with effort consistently.

“It’s about team defence and structures. We have a priority on talent and we’re looking for young players who can be the Brisbane Lions next premiership team.”
