The Brisbane Lions have the opportunity to sit 3-0 after the opening three rounds of the NAB AFL Women's competition.

In their first home game of the 2017 season at South Pine Sports Complex on Saturday, the Lions’ Women’s team will meet Collingwood.

Highly fancied ahead of the inaugural season, the Pies have so far struggled to make an impact, and are currently sitting in last place on the ladder.

In front of a capacity crowd at Fremantle Oval last Sunday, the Lions claimed 4-points in a fiercely contested match.

Led by strong-marking marquee player Tayla Harris (two goals), dangerous forward Jessica Wuetschner (two) and imposing tall Sabrina Frederick-Traub (one), the Lions came back from 10 points down in the second term to record their second victory.

Harris’ performance earned the 19-year-old a Round 2 nomination for the NAB AFL Women's Rising Star award.

Along with her two goals, Harris also took six contested marks (playing both forward and in defence) and her steady hands were a point of difference between the two sides.

Kate Deegan and Jordan Membrey are emergencies.
