The Brisbane Lions are proud to launch their match day partnership with MDA (Multicultural Development Australia) during Saturday's game with Adelaide.

MDA is committed to delivering a welcoming Queensland, where all new arrivals have the opportunity to fully contribute to and participate in a multicultural society.

As part of the match day partnership, the Brisbane Lions will connect with the heart of a diverse Brisbane community, engaging with refugees and new immigrants by introducing them to the game of AFL.

To celebrate the partnership, there will be cultural performances by some of Australia’s most vibrant and diverse community performers.

The collaboration is part of an ongoing commitment by the Lions to be engaged with multicultural communities and to ensure the successful integration of the many cultures who now call Brisbane home.

During half time, there will be a spectacular display of lanterns and a parade of multicultural performers. Some of Australia's finest World music and dance artists including the Rwandan Cultural Dance Group, the Bolivia Marka Dancers, Lam Tu Luan Lion Dancers and the Hula Hoopers will be performing around the ground.

The performances and lantern display will be a glimpse of the colour and excitement of MDAs annual LUMINOUS Lantern Parade - which will take place on Friday 9 June at the South Bank Parklands outside QPAC from 5pm-8pm.
