AFL.com.au's Michael Whiting explores the possible replacements for the suspended Nick Robertson.

With feisty utility Nick Robertson to miss Sunday's match against Carlton through suspension, Chris Fagan will have to make at least one change to the team that lost to Richmond at the weekend.

He could go for big-bodied Liam Dawson as a like-for-like replacement around the half-back line, or if he didn't mind getting even younger, the Lions coach might be tempted to unveil another draftee in Lions Academy graduate Jacob Allison, who has strung together some good form in the NEAFL.

Darcy Gardiner is on the verge of returning to full training after dislocating his elbow in Round 15 against Essendon, and he could be a strong inclusion in the Lions side for Sunday.

Josh Schache, Ben Keays and Cedric Cox all impressed in their return to the Senior level against Richmond and should retain their spots in the team.

With a growing injury toll, Carlton will have to make some changes this week. AFL.com.au's Howard Kotton looks at the options.

As the Blues' injury toll continues to mount, they hope to regain veteran Dale Thomas and young defenders Caleb Marchbank and Tom Williamson for Sunday's game against the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba.

With defenders Dylan Buckley, Ciaran Byrne and Alex Silvagni battling to be available after being injured against the Bulldogs last Sunday, Harrison Macreadie and Ciaran Sheehan will come into calculations. Macreadie impressed with 25 disposals and five marks in the Northern Blues' loss to Essendon last Saturday and Sheehan picked up 20 disposals.
