TBT: Browny's lap of honour

Jessie Grewar  June 28, 2018 12:12 PM

Throwback Thursday: Browny's best moments Today marks four years since Jonathan Brown did his lap of honour at the Gabba, so we're throwing it back to his best moments in a Brisbane Lions guernsey.

Brisbane Lions fans remember the day that the King of the Jungle, Jonathan Brown, retired from football very well.

It was a sombre day for all, as all were aware of the void that would be left without the 256-game, three-time premiership player, former Captain and one-club legend.

Four years ago to this very day, Browny's career was paid tribute with a lap of honour around the Gabba.

Browny was officially farewelled by the adoring Lions faithful with a lap of honour at half-time.

As Browny began his final lap, the heavens opened and almost 16,000 rose from their seats to give him a standing ovation he so rightfully deserved.

The Lions went on to defeat North Melbourne in a nail-biting four-point upset at the Gabba.

It was the fairytale sendoff for a Club legend, who got to sing the Lions song with his teammates one final time.
