The Brisbane Lions have selected midfielder/defender Jade Ellenger with Pick No. 72 at the 2018 AFLW Draft.

Ellenger was a star performer for Coorparoo in this year’s QWAFL competition, playing in 14 matches including the QWAFL Grand Final against Wilston Grange.

She also played in every match for Queensland in the U18 National Championships this year and was named in the best players against the Eastern Allies and Victoria Country.

Ellenger is of a smaller size but has a similar game style to Kate Lutkins and will no doubt be keen to soak up any tips from the Lions’ reigning Best and Fairest when pre-season commences.

Coaches Comment – Craig Starcevich

“Jade is an outside runner who is brave for her size and takes a really good overhead mark as an intercepting half back

“She is also very quick and can start our rebound out of the back half.”

Welcome to the den, Jade!
