Friday marked the final day of Brisbane Lions’ four-day training camp on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

The camp gave players, coaches and staff the opportunity to concentrate on building the Club's football program, outline goals and enhance relationships.

Captain Tom Rockliff said the benefits of the camp had been invaluable.

“We really enjoyed it and got a lot out of it – not only physically but as a chance for the boys to get to know each other better,” Rockliff told LionsTV on Friday.

“I hope the boys have got out of the camp, as a collective, the direction we’re heading as a Football Club. We’re not going to accept mediocrity.

“We know that there is a lot of hard work to get to where we want to be but we’ve set some really good foundations now. We’ve put the walls up, now we’ll work towards the roof.”

The camp also provided the Lions the opportunity to connect with its loyal Queensland fan-base. Junior supporters took part in a post-training signing session and clinic on Wednesday at Maroochydore Multi Sports Complex.

The players, coaches and staff visited some of the Sunshine Coast’s most popular attractions during the Club’s stay with trips to Aqua Park in Coolum and Sun City Ten Pin Bowling in Alexandra Headlands.

The Brisbane Lions would like to thank the Sunshine Coast City Council, AFL Queensland Sunshine Coast and Novotel Twin Waters for their efforts in helping us achieve a successful pre-season camp.
