With the Lions coming out strong, it was their startling accuracy in attack that opened up a second-quarter lead of 38 points.

Lewis Taylor was the spark, Dayne Beams (36 disposals) and Dayne Zorko (32 disposals) accumulated plenty of the ball while the lead was assembled.

Defenders Daniel McStay and Harris Andrews impressed in defence with Tom Boyd kept virtually out of the contest.
