Bunton. Murray. Voss.

These three much celebrated names stand clear throughout 130 years of combined VFL/AFL history of Fitzroy, the Bears, and the Brisbane Lions.

Even among the 24 other champion individuals currently housed in Brisbane Lions Hall of Fame, only Haydn Bunton, Kevin Murray, and Michael Voss can lay claim to being an official Club ‘Legend’.

However, this most exclusive trio is set to become a foursome when the Lions host their bi-ennial Hall of Fame Dinner in Melbourne on Saturday 25 June.

Lions.com.au can reveal that a fourth Legend will be unveiled at the event, alongside a new batch of worthy inductees.

To be classified a Legend is the highest individual honour that can be achieved within the Club.

So it goes without saying that the title is not handed out lightly.

Bunton and Murray were made immediate Legends at the Club’s inaugural Hall of Fame event in Melbourne back in 2012, while Voss (who was an inaugural inductee in 2012) was duly elevated to Legend status at the Brisbane event in 2014.

Between them, the three existing Legends have won five Brownlow Medals, 16 Club Best and Fairest awards, and have Captained the Club for a combined 21 years.

It is the most elite company that any individual could hope to join.

The announcement of our fourth Legend will headline what promises to be a truly memorable evening on Saturday 25 June.

Only very limited tickets remain for the Hall of Fame event – to be held at the Grand Hyatt AFTER the Brisbane Lions’ Round 14 match against Richmond at the MCG.

Any members or supporters who were planning on attending the function, but haven’t yet booked, are encouraged to do so in the coming days.

Close to 600 people have already secured their place, with bookings expected to close next week.
