Running defender Tom Cutler will make his return from injury in Saturday’s clash against Hawthorn at the Gabba.

Cutler dislocated his shoulder in the Lions’ Round 5 loss to the Western Bulldogs. He got through main training this morning and was selected in Brisbane's 22 to take on the Hawks.

In a vote of confidence, Senior Coach Justin Leppitsch asked Cutler to mark Adelaide star Eddie Betts in 2015 and the 21-year-old is likely to get the job on Hawthorn goal sneak Cyril Rioli on Saturday.

Midfielder Billy Evans will make way for Cutler.

The Lions will still be without Skipper Tom Rockliff (hamstring), while Josh Green and Marco Paparone who both performed strongly in the Lions’ Reserves last week will spend another week in the NEAFL.

Hawthorn haven’t played at the Gabba since Round 5, 2008.
