Hot and muggy conditions failed to deter Brisbane's playing group during the second day of the Club's Training Camp in Maroochydore.

Senior Assistant Danny Daly said with a handful of new recruits, some would take a little longer to adjust to the steamy conditions up in Queensland.

"Basti's (Ryan Bastinac) an interesting one," Daly told Sunshine Coast's media.

"When he came up here he told me he had the air-conditioner on in Melbourne. He battled with the heat there," Daly laughed.

"His first training session he was pretty cooked and I think he slept for about 18 hours after it.

"One thing about the heat is that you just have to get used to it and find a way to get through it."

Daly said with such a long pre-season it was important that the Club's fitness staff manage player workloads. Dayne Beams, Tom Rockliff and Josh Green were given lighter duties during training today.

The Lions trained well in the conditions, working through a number of match simulation and ball movement drills.

"Monday's and Friday's are probably our harder sessions. So we use Wednesday's to try to rest a few guys and do a bit of rehab, we call it our 'time off legs' day.

"It's a long, long preseason so we've got to manage the workload," he said.

"We probably had today about 20/21 players in the rehab group that's about looking after them and not running them into the ground too much."
