The Brisbane Lions Women's team have ended their inaugural season, holding its Best and Fairest awards on Friday night.

Emily Bates claimed top honour, with the midfielder polling 112 votes at the awards evening held at the Pullman.

Sabrina Frederick Traub (104 votes) finished runner-up while captain Emma Zielke (86 votes) placed third.

Coach Craig Starcevich said Bates, a Yeronga South Brisbane WFC product, is a prolific ball winner with leadership skills beyond her years.

Her season was characterised by consistency both on and off the field in her role as a values leader.

"Emily’s played at a really consistent, high level throughout the season,” said Starcevich.

“As one of the youngest in the leadership group, she really embraced and took her role on by her actions and demeanour around the group.”

Bates also took out the Player's Player award as voted by her teammates.

Defenders Leah Kaslar (Most Competitive) and Kate Lutkins (Most Courageous) were acknowledged for their contribution to the Club throughout the season.

Midfielder Sam Virgo received the All For One award - given to a player that most demonstrates the Club's values.

While, speedster Kate McCarthy was awarded with the Members MVP for her season.
