The following is from Brisbane Lions member, Geoff Wilson who currently resides in Thailand:

"I followed Fitzroy and saw my first game in 1966.

My father followed Fitzroy and was mates with Kevin Murray. I asked Kevin at a testimonial if he remembered him, and Kevin smiled and said "Yeah, we used to wag school together down at Deep Rock." Deep Rock was a swimming hole at the Yarra River before the freeway was built.

After Fitzroy's last game in 1996, I went to the club hotel in Fitzroy. I wasn't sure what I would do, but I heard Kevin talking to some supporters and he just told them to "follow the colours." And I thought, "that's good enough for me." So I got my first Brisbane Lions Membership at the first game of 1997.

I flew from Bangkok to Melbourne to go to the first Hall of Fame function. I bought a framed jumper and it's sitting at my father's house waiting for me to repatriate. I also bought (Dayne) Zorko's match-worn jumper from the Bulldogs game that weekend in the silent auction, and it's framed, unwashed, here in Thailand.

My best mate's name is Gary Dawson and we've been going to the football together since 1970. "Smokey" lived in Hobart since the early 1980's and we went to all the Grand Final's and all the flag unfurlings at the Gabba together. He's a member of the TFL Hall of Fame with Lynchy and Co., as the main umpire and he's a member of The Coaches Club."
