A total of eight eligible Hyundai Brisbane Lions Academy members have been lodged by the Club as potential bid selections ahead of the 2014 NAB AFL National Draft.

The list includes: Harris Andrews (Aspley Hornets/Wilston Grange), Darcy Cameron-Reeves (Redlands/Morningside), Liam Dawson (Aspley Hornets/Wilston Grange), Matthew Hammelmann (Redlands/Morningside), Daniel Henderson (Maroochydore), William Kristelly (Maroochydore), Cameron Stevenson (Aspley/ University of Queensland), Matthew Ubergang (Redlands/ Western Magpies).

All eight of the aforementioned players may be eligible to be taken at the Father/Son and Academy bidding meeting on Monday 6 October.

The Lions will have until Friday 3 October to decide which of the eight players, if any, the Club wishes to nominate ahead of that bidding meeting.

If any of the lodged Academy players are overlooked at the National Draft, the Club will have the option of drafting them as a priority selection at December’s AFL Rookie Draft.

AFL recruiters will get a closer look at four of the Lions Academy players – Andrews, Dawson, Hammelmann, and Uebergang – when they attend the annual Draft Combine at Etihad Stadium in October.
