Brisbane Lions’ vice-captain Daniel Rich has agreed to terms on a new extended deal with the Club.

The new deal will see Rich, 23, at the Lions’ until at least the end of the 2016 season.

Lions General Manager, Football Operations, Dean Warren, said: “It’s a fantastic result for the Club to extend the contract of such a great, young talent.

“It speaks volumes for both the Club and our football program that Daniel has committed to the Lions for another three years.

“Daniel is one of a number of young players representative of the future of the Brisbane Lions and I’m sure our members and fans will be excited by this news.”

Rich’s new deal follows the announcement last week that Matthew Leuenberger and Dayne Zorko have both agreed to extended deals with the Club.

Drafted by the Lions with Pick No.7 in the 2009 AFL National Draft, Rich was the second player in history to be unanimously voted as the AFL Rising Star - receiving top votes from all nine judges.

After a stand-out pre-season in 2012, he produced his best AFL season to date and finished Runner-Up in the Lions’ Club Champion award – just two votes behind Joel Patull.
