The Brisbane Lions have recalled Ben Hudson, Jared Polec and Niall McKeever to the senior team ahead of Sunday’s match against the ladder-leading West Coast Eagles at the Gabba.

Seasoned ruckman Hudson will shoulder the bulk of the side’s ruck responsibility - opposed to dynamic Eagles duo Nic Naitanui and Dean Cox - in the absence of first round draftee Billy Longer who has been sidelined with a minor back complaint.

Polec - who is the Lions’ sixth highest goal-scorer in 2012 - returns after missing last week’s match against North Melbourne, while McKeever will help bolster the team’s defence in what will be just his fourth match of the season.

Champion midfielder Simon Black has also been forced out of the side to face the Eagles with knee soreness, but is expected to return after the team’s Round 11 Bye.

Elliot Yeo, who made a promising senior AFL debut last weekend, has been omitted and will take his place on the emergency list alongside Claye Beams and Patrick Karnezis.

The Lions will also celebrate a couple of important milestones at the Gabba this Sunday, with Tom Rockliff set to play his 50th AFL match and Jonathan Brown lining up for his 100th match as Club Captain.
