Brisbane Lions Chairman, Mr Angus Johnson, has thanked retiring director, Mr Len Poulter, for his contribution to the Club.

“On behalf of my fellow Directors, I’d like to thank Len for his contribution to the Brisbane Lions,” Mr Johnson told members at the Club’s Annual General Meeting last night.

“Len’s passion for the Club is obvious - as is his desire to see the Lions return as a force in the AFL.

“He has played a significant role ensuring our Club’s course is the right one.”

Mr Poulter, the founder of Lenard’s Poultry, stepped down from the Board due to increased work commitments.

The long-time Lions member had been a Director of the Club since 2010.

Mr Poulter said: “I came on to the Board at a very interesting stage in the life of this football Club.

“But it was great to be a part of it and extremely rewarding given the restructuring and repositioning work of a Club seeking sustainable success.

“I view the Lions as a young club given the transformation over the past few years and it’s exciting to see the maturing of both the staff and playing group.

“From a personal point of view, I leave the Club with this message - never stop engaging with your consumers.”

Lions’ members tonight also passed a resolution permitting the Board to change the minimum time period from five years to four years from being a player or employee of the Club to becoming eligible for a position on the Board.

Mr Johnson closed the AGM by wishing members a safe and merry Christmas and thanking them for their ongoing support of the Club.
