Saturday evening will mark just the third time in more than eight years that Essendon has faced the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba.
Since Round 2 of 2006, the Bombers have only made two visits to Brisbane – in 2009 (Round 6) and 2011 (Round 8).

BEARS-INSPIRED GUERNSEY
The Brisbane Lions will wear a Bears-inspired Hall of Fame commemorative guernsey this Saturday evening when they take on Essendon at the Gabba.
The guernsey, which was voted on by the fans, is a ‘retro’ design based on the years between 1989-91, when the Bears’ colour changed from being a deeper and darker maroon to a lighter shade.
The Lions wore a similar design as part of the 2006 AFL Heritage Round, however this version will be the inverse ‘home’ style guernsey – with the jumper being predominantly gold with a maroon ‘BB’ pyramid.
It will feature the Hall of Fame logo sublimated into the back neckline, with “Dare to beat the Bear” text – a quote derived from the inaugural Bears song – watermarked into the inner neckline.
The names of the 17 inaugural Hall of Fame inductees will also be watermarked into the front of the jumper.

POST-MATCH SIGNING SESSION
A post-match signing session will be held in the Lion Park (located outside Gate 2) after the game against Essendon.
The signing session will commence immediately after the match, and ALL players will be available for autographs one one stage or another throughout the evening.
NB: If it rains, the signing session will be moved inside to the Queensland Room at the Gabba
