Proudly supported by Hastings Deering, our AFLW team will be running a clinic targeted at young girls aged 3-10 and their parents or guardians. Through a series of informative and fun sessions guided by the Pretty Foundation, we will be encouraging young Lions to be body positive, have fun and get involved in footy.

Date: Thursday 18 August
Time: 4:00pm - 5:30pm. Registrations from 3:45pm
Location: AFLQ Administration and Training Centre, Cansdale Street, Yeronga

Each participant will receive:
- Charlie’s Tales: Peggy and the Fantastic Football (If you have previously received this title, you will be able to exchange for an alternate title on the day)
- Goodie Bag - Thanks to Hastings Deering

CHARLIE’S TALES BOOK SESSION

Charlie’s Tales: Peggy and the Fantastic Football aims to teach girls about how amazing their bodies are and what they can achieve. This focus on functionality is a key element of developing a positive body image. Additionally the book and resources aim to encourage girls to get involved in sports, to have fun and to play with confidence.

PARENT'S SESSION

Parents will be invited to attend a session whilst their daughters are undertaking the book session. Parents will also be provided a body confidence resource to take home. Key speaker Breeanna Brock, Head of Women’s Football, Brisbane Lions will deliver the session and on how AFL and sport can play a significant role in the physical and mental health development of young girls. Hastings Deering will also speak on why they're so passionate about AFLW and proud to support and empower future women in their workforce.

TRAIN LIKE A LION SESSION

Girls will be broken up into groups to undertake advanced skills and drills and team-building exercises which will be run by the Brisbane Lions AFLW players.

FOOD & DRINKS

At the completion of the Train Like a Lion Session, parents and participants will be invited to join us for a Sausage Sizzle.

WHY PRETTY?

Pretty is often used in a superficial context with regards to female appearance. We want to go beyond the superficial and reclaim the power of pretty by using it to describe the true value of women and girls.
