The 2023 AFLW Season Eight Supplementary Draft will be held tonight, Tuesday 4th April at 7:30pm AEST.

The Brisbane Lions will have one pick to fill the Club’s list spots, pick 17 in Round One; see the draft order here.

Lions fans should note, tonight’s draft is different to an ordinary national draft with eligibility for draftees restricted to those who were born in 2004 or earlier (i.e. will turn 19 this year).

This is to account for the two AFLW seasons that were played in 2022.

Another difference is players are able to nominate for the national pool for the first time, allowing them to be taken by any club across the country or the state-specific pool if they wish to stay in their home state.

After tonight, the Lions list for 2023 will be complete with the Club signing Ellie Hampson, Jade Predelj, Courtney Murphy and Jennifer Dunne through the sign and trade period, as well as locking in 26 of its 2022 playing list ahead of this season.

The AFLW Season Eight Supplementary Draft will be broadcast exclusively on womens.afl, afl.com.au, the AFLW App and the AFL Live Official App from 7.30pm AEST.
