The Brisbane Lions have made four changes for Saturday’s VFL match up with the Carlton at Ikon Park. 

The Lions welcome Darragh Joyce into the side replacing skipper Ryan Lester who is back at AFL level, while Jarryd Lyons returns to bolster a star-studded midfield. 

Joyce will lace up for his first VFL game of 2023 and will be joined by big man Henry Smith who is also playing his first match of the season. 

The Lions have enjoyed a blistering start to the season remaining unbeaten through the first five rounds. 

After enjoying a bye last week, the Lions will face the eighth-placed Blues in their third game on the road for season 2023. 

Lions Academy product Josh Cooper has also been named replacing academy teammate Jack Manly, both of whom have been key parts of the Lions Academy in the 2023 Coates Talent League. 

The game will be played at Ikon Park with the first bounce at 11:05am AEST.
