The move down the M1 not only meant that Brown could be closer to his wife Kylie’s family, but also meant that he could find a larger property and be closer to the beach – two things that he was used to growing up in Warrnambool.
In part five of “Browny – The People’s Champ”, Lions TV followed Brown to the beach for one of his regular pre-game rituals.
“I like to get down the beach and have a bit of a swim,” Brown said.
“I’ve always loved the water, so it’s good living a bit closer to the water now for the past couple of years.
“I must admit it’s a bit more enjoyable than down the south-west of Victoria where you can’t swim that much because it’s a lot colder down Warrnambool way.”
Brown even seems to have adopted the Gold Coast fashion by donning a pair of technicolour boardshorts that he admits are a bit “un-Browny-like”.
