The Brisbane Lions have made seven changes to their VFL side that suffered a one-point loss to Richmond last weekend.

The Lions will travel to Genis Street Oval in Melbourne to take on the Bullants as Darcy Fort and Daniel Rich headline the returning players to the VFL.

Jarryd Lyons and James Madden have been rewarded for their good VFL form with a promotion to the AFL side.

Nakia Cockatoo is back from a hamstring injury that kept him out of the team last week, replacing Noah Answerth who will miss up to a month with a facial fracture.

Captain Wylie Buzza, who did not play in the clash against Richmond, has been named in a boost to the Lions forward line.

Bruce Reville and Wilson Barry also return from Queensland State team duties in Hobart last weekend with Darcy Gardiner out with quad soreness.

Academy products Sam Marshall and Billy Richardson are set to debut after several good performances in the Coates Talent League, coming in for Academy teammate Josh Cooper and Owen Collins.

Jackson Hille has been omitted while Academy defender Brad McDonald will join the Allies squad for the 2023 AFL National Championships U18 Boys.

Lions fans are encouraged to catch the live stream on https://www.afl.com.au/ or the AFL Live Official App with the first bounce from 12:05pm.
