Brisbane Lions star midfielder Will Ashcroft has committed to the Club long term after signing a four-year contract extension.
The two-time premiership player and dual Norm Smith Medallist will remain at Brighton Homes Arena until the end of 2030.
Ashcroft, who was already contracted for the 2026 season, said he had no hesitation committing his future to the Lions.
“I am obviously stoked to sign on and play at this great club, and I am super excited for what’s to come in the future." the 21-year-old said.
“We have a club of great people, so it made my decision really easy.”
Ashcroft, taken with Pick 2 in the 2022 draft as a father-son selection, has experienced an impressive 58-game career to date.
After a strong start to his debut season in 2023, the young midfielder suffered an ACL injury which saw him miss the Grand Final.
The former Sandringham Dragon and Southport junior bounced back in remarkable fashion to help the Lions win back-to-back flags.
Ashcroft also showed he is a big stage performer by winning back-to-back Norm Smith Medals as well as the Gary Ayres Award in 2025.
Brisbane Lions List Manager Dom Ambrogio said the Club was thrilled to have Ashcroft re-sign.
“It’s exciting to have a player of Will’s calibre re-sign for a further four years and be fully invested in where we are heading as a Club,” Ambrogio said.
“We have loved what Will has delivered in his first three seasons, and that goes beyond his premiership and Norm Smith medals.
“Will is a very talented and professional player and we look forward to seeing him continue to evolve and play a key role in our future.”
