As the Brisbane Lions prepare to host Diwali Festival at Brighton Homes Arena on Saturday night, Fox Footy will be providing alternate Hindi commentary and graphics for the Round 11 clash with Melbourne.
The voices of Rajbir Ghuman and Harbir Singh Kang will bring the match to life for Hindi-speaking audiences, with key on-screen graphics also adjusted to the language.
The Hindi broadcast will be on Fox Sports 7 (507) and Kayo Sports.
The Lions are bringing the Diwali Festival to Brighton Homes Arena for the very first time — integrating a large-scale cultural celebration with an AFLW match day experience.
The Diwali Festival attracts up to 6,000 attendees with an afternoon of food, live performances, cultural activities, fireworks and this year, football.
This is the second alternate language AFLW broadcast for Fox Footy this season after their Round 8 Mandarin language broadcast of GWS v St Kilda.
Fox Footy also broadcast two men’s matches in languages other than English this year, R21 Western Bulldogs v GWS (Hindi) and R22 Brisbane v Sydney (Mandarin).
