The Brisbane Lions are saying “I’m lovin' it!” with McDonalds extending its partnership with the back-to-back AFL Premiers for a further five years, until 2030.
McDonalds, an iconic and well-loved brand and long-standing supporter of the AFL industry, has today confirmed it will increase its backing of the Lions as Premier Partner of our AFL men’s team and Official Partner of the AFLW program.
Further, the Lions are excited to announce McDonalds are set to become the Official Membership Partner of the football Club adding another layer to an already strong partnership.
Since 2023, the famous golden arches have been proudly displayed on the neckline of the Club’s AFL guernseys, a position it will now hold for the next five seasons.
Brisbane Lions CEO, Sam Graham said the Club was delighted to continue its partnership with McDonalds.
“We are extremely grateful to have McDonalds take its support of the Club to a new level, while also showing its commitment by extending for five years, which will take our partnership out to 10 years,” he said.
“Our fans love the free Big Macs when the team scores over 70 points, our players love helping out the families at Ronald McDonald House and also getting behind the counter to support McHappy Day.
“We're excited to see what the next five years of this valuable partnership leads to and look forward to continuing to work closely with the team at Maccas.”
The five-year partnership extension highlights the shared values between the Lions and McDonalds.
McDonald's QLD/NT State Marketing Manager, Zoe Rowley, said Lions members and fans are once again set to benefit from the partnership.
“We are thrilled to strengthen our partnership with the Brisbane Lions as their official membership partner for another five years - a reflection of Macca’s commitment to celebrating the passion of Lions fans far and wide,” she said.
“From free Big Macs if the Lions score 70 points, to McCafé Monday pick-me-ups, we’re thrilled to continue rewarding fans and share in the excitement of footy.
“We’re proud to have given away over 80,000 free Big Macs across Brisbane to celebrate the Lions’ back-to-back 2025 premiership win – a great example of the power this partnership has in bringing the community together through a shared love of footy and Macca’s.
“We’re also grateful for the Lions’ ongoing support of Ronald McDonald House Charities.
“Their commitment to helping families stay close during tough times - through goal donations and unforgettable experiences - is nothing short of inspiring, and we thank them for their support.”
