Andrews was originally recruited from Wodonga and went on to play 80 senior VFL matches with Fitzroy between 1966-72.
He was the 828th player to represent Fitzroy in a senior VFL/AFL match and wore the #3 guernsey.
Across his 80 senior matches, Andrews was part of some notable moments in Fitzroy history. He played in Fitzroy’s last ever match at Brunswick Street Oval in 1967 and also played in front of the Royal Family in 1970 at the MCG, which was the first ever fully live televised VFL game.
The Club extends its deepest condolences to Andrews’ family and friends at this difficult time.
