Injury Wrap

Charlie Cameron will not require post-season surgery to his right elbow. Cameron hyperextended his elbow early in the first quarter of the Lions’ Semi Final loss to GWS GIANTS. He played out the game with his right arm heavily strapped and managed to kick two goals.

The Lions’ medical staff say that Cameron’s elbow has a medial ligament strain and he will need to be in a brace for up to six weeks. He will be able to run in the off-season and start the Lions’ 2020 pre-season on time.

Stefan Martin had a cork to the back of his leg in the loss to the GIANTS and is expected to be fine in the coming weeks, alongside Marcus Adams who rolled his ankle.

Tom Joyce is recovering well from his stress reaction in his right shin and has completed his on-ground running re-conditioning program. He is expected to start pre-season with no concerns.

The 2019 Lions NEAFL Premiership team also escaped any injury in Sunday’s game against the Southport Sharks.
