The Brisbane Lions VFL side will take part in a historic first clash against Tasmania at Brighton Homes Arena on Friday, with the squad strengthened by the inclusion of Luke Beecken, Reece Torrent, Henry Smith and Shadeau Brain.

Brain returns to the VFL following a two-match stint in AFL, midfielder Reece Torrent is back from an ankle injury sustained in Rd 8 and Henry Smith gets his first run for the season having overcome a foot injury.

Reece Thompson is unavailable due to Allies commitments while Isaac Waller (inj), Alex Pope and Brad McDonald are omitted.

Lions fans are encouraged to clear the calendar and make Friday a ‘work from Springfield’ day.

First bounce is scheduled for 11:05am, giving supporters the perfect excuse to grab a coffee or lunch at Roar Espresso, before cheering on the Lions.

Whether you are based in the city, working remotely, or looking to shake up the Friday routine, Springfield offers an easy way to combine the workday with live footy.

Bring the laptop, get on the train, round up your colleagues and finish the week — or start the weekend early — and be part of a unique weekday VFL fixture.
