Brisbane trade Sam Marshall and Round Two Pick 39 (now 41) in the 2026 Telstra AFL Draft to St Kilda for a 2027 Round One Pick (tied to St Kilda).

The club thanks Marshall, a graduate of the Youi Brisbane Lions Academy, for his contribution across his two seasons at Brighton Homes Arena, including being a member of the 2025 premiership team.

Brisbane Lions General Manager Football Danny Daly said the club wished Marshall well for the next chapter of his career.

“Sam has been a valued member of our football program and will always be a Brisbane Lions premiership player,” Daly said.

“We have enjoyed seeing Sam develop as a player and as a person within our program and hope other members of our academy take inspiration from his journey.

“While it is always difficult to farewell a player, this trade provides Sam with a new opportunity at St Kilda and allows us to significantly strengthen our position in the 2027 draft.

“On behalf of the club, we would like to thank Sam and his family for their contribution and wish them all the best for the future.”
