The Brisbane Lions would like to congratulate Director of the Board Cathie Reid and Life Member Arthur Wilson for receiving Queen’s Birthday honours today.

Reid received an AM [Member in the General Division] for her significant service to healthcare delivery and philanthropy. She co-founded the Epic Healthcare Group and the Icon Group, a private cancer and oncology service group, who also act as a co-major partner of the Lions AFLW team. Reid has been a member of the Lions Board since 2016.

Wilson received an OAM [Medal in the General Division] for service to Australian football. He served Fitzroy and then the merged Lions Club for more than half a century since 1965, working in a variety of positions which included Recruiting Manager, Secretary and Football Manager. Wilson established the Fitzroy/Brisbane Lions Historical Society in Melbourne more than two decades ago.

CEO Greg Swann proudly congratulated the pair on their achievement.

“On behalf of our Club and 27,000 members I would like to congratulate Cathie and Arthur on their recognition,” he said.

“Both have been stalwarts of our footy Club for a very long time, so it’s great that the whole of Australia can now also appreciate their hard work.”
