100 of our hardworking Royal Australian Navy sailors on the HMAS Brisbane will enjoy Saturday night’s Lions and Port Adelaide clash at the Gabba, with Lions CEO Greg Swann shouting the crew free tickets.

“The sailors are in town for the weekend and they’ve been given Saturday off,” he said.

“There’s a lot of AFL supporters on the boat and we thought it would be a good recognition of their service of our country to invite them to the game.”

Swann was given a tour of the HMAS Brisbane by Commanding Officer Josh Wilson. The boat is the Royal Australian Navy’s newest and most advanced warship.

It was designed to combat threats in the air, on land and underwater.

This is the ship’s first trip to Brisbane.
