We take a look at some of the key stats from yesterday's game against the West Coast Eagles.

The total amount of points we scored - In 2015 we reached over 100 points just four times, but last night we managed that against last year's grand finalists in an encouraging performance.

Having tall targets to kick to up in the forward line along with our run and gun style of play allowed us to maximise scoring opportunities.

Total number of tackles made - All of the work the boys have done with Brett 'Bumper' O'Farrell seems to be working after we out tackled the Eagles (59 - 74).

TOP TACKLERS:

Daniel Rich - 11 Tackles
Tom Rockliff - 8 Tackles
Claye Beams - 7 Tackles
Tom Bell - 5 Tackles

The first two of many from Schache -  Our first pick in the 2015 AFL NAB National Draft Josh Schache began his career as a Lion and didn't dissapoint. The 18 year old kicked two goals, along with five marks and four tackles.

His proud family watched on from the stands as this moment occured:

The number of scoring shots West Coast had - Although our run and gun style of football allowed us to score high, the Eagles were at their best with 36 scoring shots (A differential of 9).

The Lions were short of almost 200 games experience with Daniel Merrett missing Round 1 due to illness. He will be a valuable addition to the young backline when well.

The differential of uncontested possessions - Contested possession was down 160-128 but the bigger issue was uncontested possession where the West Coast dominated 288-198 (A differential of -90).
